  2. I don’t know how I’ve managed to miss him—I think he’s magnificent.
    Well, I guess because there seem to be a total of four natural history studies, and the rest are the sort of paintings that don’t capture me.
    And the color—Why did they have such beautiful pigments back then—or at least colors that I am more drawn to than those from any other period; those that were used for scientific illustrations and preliminary studies anyway..
