    • Exactly. And less dramatically for us—UP TIL NOW: What price “progress?”
      Hordes of creatures lie in our wake.

    • Well –I titled it myself.
      It’s described as “Ein Ruhmesblatt der österreichischen Artillerie. Die Armeegeschützreserve nach der Schlacht bei Königgrätz am 3. Juli 1866” or “A glorious chapter of the Austrian artillery. The army artillery reserve after the battle of Hradec Králové on 3 July 1866” —
      which I readily assumed was meant ironically; as far as I can tell – it was not.
      In fact: “The Königgrätzer Marsch was written to commemorate the battle.”
      And–wouldn’t you know–“the French public resented the Prussian victory and demanded “Revanche pour Sadova” or “Revenge for Sadowa”, which formed part of the build-up to the Franco-Prussian War of 1870″ . . .
